Over the years Drew Stanton and the High 5ive Foundation have assisted or donated resources to Special Olympics Michigan. In 2015 and 2014, the High 5ive Foundation was an event sponsor for the Michigan Winter Games, providing ski equipment and uniforms for the athletes. Drew has also participated in the annual Polar Plunge and has provided support for the annual Michigan Summer Games as well.
Special Olympics Michigan provides year‑round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic‑type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are given continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and athletic skill, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Here is a gallery showcasing some of the High 5ive Foundation’s work on both the Special Olympics Summer and Winter Games.
On October 9, 2015, the High 5ive Foundation was presented the Joe Falls Inspiration Award at the annual Special Olympics Inspire Greatness Gala at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. Stanton’s parents, Gaylord and Chris Stanton, were on hand to accept the award on behalf of Drew and his wife Kristen.
